Availability and Substitutes
If the exact product you ordered is not available we will substitute a similar product of equal value.
Quality and Storage
Every effort is made to ensure that the produce when dispatched is of the freshest quality.
Because organic produce is supplied fresh from the fields, unlike supermarket produce, it is not packaged in a protective atmosphere and has a more limited shelf life.
Our root crops are supplied un-washed as this helps to preserve the freshness without the need for refrigeration. However we do recommend that all produce, once received, is stored in a cool place, away from direct sunlight and the risk of frost.
If no other suitable store is available we recommend that most produce be kept in a domestic refrigerator.
Produce not suitable for refrigeration : bananas
Due to the nature of organic produce, marks, blemishes and irregularities may occur on the surface of produce, this should in no way affect the eating quality of the item.
Packaging
The packaging we use is designed to be recyclable. The boxes are intended to be returned and re-used. Plastic bags are only used where maintaining freshness is particularly difficult, usually for leafy vegetables and salads.
